
APNLC is excited to offer another round of the FoodFit for Arabic-Speaking and FoodFit for Mandarin-Speaking Newcomers Programs.
Both programs will start in September 2026.
FoodFit for Newcomers
FoodFit for Newcomers is a 12-week program that promotes social connection, healthy eating and physical activity. Each session includes hands-on food skills activities, nutrition education, and group exercise. Through discussion and self-reflection, participants gain the knowledge and confidence to make lasting improvements to their health.
To be eligible for this program, participants must have arrived in Canada within the past 3 years and commit to attending all 12 sessions. Registration is required.
Funding for FoodFit for Newcomers is provided by the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

FoodFit for Arabic-Speaking Newcomers
FoodFit for Arabic-Speaking Newcomers runs on Tuesdays from 11 am to 2 pm starting on Tuesday, September 15. Sessions are offered in-person at Scadding Court Community Centre, located at 707 Dundas Street West. The program is delivered in English with Arabic interpretation.

FoodFit for Mandarin-Speaking Newcomers
FoodFit for Mandarin-Speaking Newcomers runs on Fridays from 11 am to 2 pm starting on Friday, September 11. Sessions are offered in-person at Scadding Court Community Centre, located at 707 Dundas Street West. The program is delivered in English with Mandarin interpretation.

We also offer FoodFit for Ukrainian-Speaking Newcomers and FoodFit for Spanish-Speaking Newcomers. These programs will be offered again in Winter 2027.
